June 23rd, 2018 – July 1, 2018
Opening reception: Saturday, June 23rd from 6 - 8pm
Plaxall Gallery, 5-25 46th Ave. Long Island City, NY 11101
Teen Art Salon presents Twenty Under 20, a group exhibition featuring new work by emerging artists born & raised across the New York City metropolitan area.
At the tail end of two decades filled with change and uncertainty, these works address topics ranging from world creation to self-preservation, subject matter particularly apt in the context of questions and debates regarding borders, boundaries, past origins, and future outcomes of our present.
Produced at Teen Art Salon’s free open studio program, the artwork presented in Twenty Under 20 is not only an exploration of individual vision, but the result of constant intellectual collaboration and collective feedback. Both in a physical and an abstract sense, these works have been created in a shared context, but only now for the first time are they shown together, for fresh consideration.
