Drawing All-Stars 3.0

January-June 2023

Drawing All-Stars 3.0 is a free pre-professional development program for high schoolers, grades 9-11, led by Teen Art Salon in partnership with The Drawing Center. Focusing on New York City’s next generation of artists, the program supports teens to expand their drawing practices and amplify their artistic ambitions.

Art Portfolio Intensive

Monday July 24 - Friday August 28
3:00pm to 5:00PM

This one week art intensive will focus on developing middle schoolers drawing and design skills in order to prepare them for New York City’s Visual Arts High School admissions.

All materials will be provided.

Character and Creature Design

Monday July 31 - Friday August 4
3:00pm to 5:00PM

This art intensive will focus on the building blocks of visual storytelling: the basics of character & creature design, alongside composition.

All materials will be provided.

Camp DRAW-A-THON

August 2023

Camp DRAW-A-THON is a free summer intensive for rising 7th-9th and 10th-11th graders led by Teen Art Salon in partnership with The Drawing Center. Over a one-week period, young artists will engage in a dynamic daily drawing marathon to fill a sketchbook.

Middle School Art Intensives at Queens Public Library

JUNE 15, 2023
5:00pm to 6:30PM

This art intensive will focus on developing students drawing and design skills in order to prepare middle schoolers for NYC’s Visual Arts High School admissions.

Open Studio
Program

WHO: Open to all teens ages 13-19
WHEN: 2015-2020
WHERE: 2728 Thomson Ave. WS6, Long Island City, NY 11101 inside the Arris Lofts on the 1st floor. Accessible by the E, M, G, and 7 trains at Court Square. + N, W, and R trains at Queens Plaza.

Teen Art Salon provides a FREE collaborative studio space for adolescents to establish and advance a studio practice. Materials are provided FREE of charge and long-term project proposals are considered by young artists of all experience levels.

The Teen Art Salon Open Studio program nurtures originality, conceptual thinking, creative stamina, critical inquiry, mental fortitude, and social inclusion, by taking student work seriously in commissioning, exhibiting, and promoting it at venues in NYC and elsewhere.
